Drop Nineteens

A few years ago I stumbled upon these recordings of the Drop Nineteens early demos. Unlike the feedback-drenched pop of the debut album Delaware, these are just plain ambient guitar noise, with some chanting vocals thrown into the mix. Mesmerizing, and very MBV-inspired. I actually like this better than any of their official recordings. A must for fans of Lovesliescrusing!

Ambient Bliss

Belong are a electronic duo with two releases to their name so far. Their album, October Language, is a downright humid, organic, and blissful collection of songs that would sound good alongside anything on the Ambient Pop collections put out by Kompakt. A few months ago they released an EP of cover songs, washed out in aural fuzz.

Vivian Girls

Falling under the same category as the Baby Lemonade material below, the Vivian Girls are a rising Brooklyn girl group with JAMC meets Spector vibe. I discovered both groups via the excellent podcasts you can download from Slumberland Records.
